The Seychelles is a place with sparkling blue water, scenic hikes, water sports, bustling markets and plenty of private island getaways making it ideal for romantic holidays and honeymoons. The islands offer a mix of luxury, cultural experiences, and island hopping opportunities.

In this blog I am going to to covering the five key elements while planning a trip to Seychelles.
Visa & Transport
Timings & Season, pros & cons
Recommended spots & specifics for each location
Accommodation
Expenses
So if you want to make the most of your trip to these idyllic islands, you have come to the right place. Let's begin....
Visa & Transport
You don't need a visa to enter the Seychelles as a tourist. You'll receive a visitor's permit on arrival. The visitor's permit may be granted for a period of up to 3 months.
For more specific details as per your situation, I would recommend reaching out to the Seychelles immigration.
Next, you would need to make the flight bookings. If you are travelling from India(like we did) you can get a 5 hours direct flight from Mumbai to Mahe Island.
For tourist visiting from other countries please check what route works best for you. Seychelles does have direct flights from Frankfurt, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and a few part of Africa. I would recommend making the bookings in advance to get the best deals.
For local travel in Mahe, I would suggest to hire a car. I will link in the description a few popular car rentals in Seychelles.
Timing & Seasons
Although, Seychelles is an ideal year round destination, months between March & June or October and November are perfect. The waters are calm and ideal for sailing and water sports.
Recommended spots
Seychelles comprises of more than 100 islands scattered in the Indian Ocean. However, the most popular ones are Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and Silhouette.
Day 1
Once you fly into Mahe Airport, you can take a short flight or hop on a ferry to get to Praslin. Once you arrive in Praslin, check into your booked accommodation whether its a hotel or Airbnb. I will talk more about choice of accommodation later in the video.
Plan to visit the Cote D’Or Beach during the afternoon. Soak in the view and have a light lunch at the famous Cafe des Arts restaurant. From here, make your way to Anse Lazio for sunset. If you enjoy seafood, you will plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Day 2
You can take a day trip to La Digue. This island is a short ferry ride away from Praslin. Have a relaxed breakfast with some fresh fruits and head out to catch the ferry. You can book the ferry through Inter Island Ferry. It's a short 15 mins ferry ride to La Digue. To avoid any last minute surprises, please ensure to make the bookings in advance, as online reservations can be made only upto 48 hours before departure. I will add the link to the ferry bookings in description.
Once you are in La Digue, rent a bicycle and explore the island. Please plan to visit the picture-perfect white-sand beach of Anse Source D'Argent. Visiting this island will leave you with the most authentic travel experience in Seychelles.
The last ferry leaves around 5 PM, so hop on and make your way back to Praslin.

Day 3
Another exciting attraction on Praslin is the Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve. You can reach here by bus or rental car. The infamous Coco de Mer can be seen in its natural habitat here. This tiny granite island is home to giant tortoises as well.

Once you are exhausted, you can head back to your car and make your way to Praslin jetty to take a ferry back to Mahe. Once you reach Mahe, check into your hotel. We chose to stay at Hilton Northolme Resort & Spa. It has a gorgeous infinity pool and scenic restaurant

Day 4
You are almost half way through your trip, and its time to relax and spent the day walking by the beach, snorkelling or diving in Seychelles gorgeous water. If you really want to unwind, get a rejuvenating massage.

Day 5
Its time to explore from a number of trails in mahe based on your fitness level. You might sweat a lot on your way up but stunning panoramas at the top would be equally rewarding. Spend your afternoon exploring Victoria, the capital city. Utilise this time to buy souvenirs from local shops. Spend a relaxed evening and make sure you opt for a romantic dinner overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Day 6
It's time to treat yourself with another luxurious oasis. Transfer to Silhouette island and enjoy the island life. We chose to stay at Hilton Labriz. You can request the hotel to arrange for ferry. This romantic island utopia will leave you sun-kissed and blissed out. Trust me when I say this, you won't feel like leaving this paradise.

Day 7
It's time to take the ferry back to Mahe and hop on the flight back home.

Accommodations
Although I did mention the places we chose during our stay, here is a summary of the accommodations we choose. I would recommend keeping a nice balance between luxury and budget. On days when you plan to explore beaches, market and do water sport you can choose to stay in Airbnbs and when you want to treat yourself to luxury, you can pick from Hilton Northolme, Hilton-Labriz or any such luxury resorts.
Expenses
All the mentioned expenses is in Indian Rupees(INR) for 2 people. Flight tickets would cost around 1 lac. Accommodation can cost upto 1.5 lacs depending on the type of hotels or resorts you go for. Local transport including ferry or boat transfers and car rental would add up to 40,000. For food enthusiasts there are a lot of seafood options, which can cost you 25,000.
